Rolex Vintage Dealer Displays - 1950s-1960s

Rolex sells its watches primarily through a network of authorized independent dealers throughout the world and supports them in every respect possible for a watch manufacturer. The brand is dependent on their success with marketing and sales on the streets of major metropolitan cities like New York, London, Hong Kong and of course Geneve. In addition to providing extensive training for their retail locations and promotional literature, Rolex has helped their dealers design the physical retail space and build successful store window displays. In order to help accomplish this and standardize the quality and appearance of every Rolex boutique, Rolex commissioned the design and production of high quality Swiss made displays and stands. These window displays were produced in the 1950s and early 1960s, around the same time that Rolex introduced Sport Models, such as the Submariner. Like Rolex watches, they were also very modern and innovative for their time. The entire display line was designed to effuse the same quality and durability as the mechanical watches. Their themes embodied mid-century modern designs during the 1950s and early 1960s. Many were eloquently conceived and well executed and have become highly collectible.
